Dance DSA

Beginning as part of the Music and Dance Club in 1990 and having performed in musicals, such as the Pied Piper, the group became formally known as the Temasek Freestylers in 2002. Under the mentorship of Mr Terence Then, the group has performed well in the Singapore Youth Festival Arts Presentations as well as in competitions like the Super 24 Dance showcase.

Applicants should be able to:

demonstrate a passion for dance
enjoy performing in front of an audience.
appreciate working as part of a team.
train twice a week, and participate in additional training sessions nearing competitions.

[Preferably] have 3 years of prior experience dancing in school or external dance schools

Applicants should:

be in primary school PE attire.
check their given email for the details of the trials.
be prepared to participate in 2 rounds of auditions

Round 1
All participants should be prepared to learn a 4-eights dance routine

Round 2
Selected participants would be given a callback to perform a 1 minute solo dance (any genre) to your choice of music on a later date

Note: Meeting all the criteria does not guarantee the student will be shortlisted/be given an offer. The decision of the Selection Panel on the DSA-Sec application is final. The school reserves the right not to release the reasons for non-selection of applicants and/or the results of the trials/auditions/aptitude test and/or the interview.

Students who are successfully admitted to the school via DSA are expected to honour their commitment to the school, and participate in the training/activities related to the DSA talent they are selected for from year 1-4.
