HISTORY
The Robotics Club first started in 2007 as the Mathematics Club. In 2015, the club was renamed as the Robotics Club in recognition of the shift towards enabling our students to be future ready. The club was revamped as a specialised CCA providing opportunities to train students in four specific disciplines – Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) – through an interdisciplinary and applied approach using Robotics programming and construction as a platform. Currently, the robotics club has approximately 30 members.
MISSION
The Robotics Club aspires to nurture the next generation of learners into leaders of technology who will be ready to participate in future economies in which coding and engineering are crucial for innovation.
TRAINING
Training is held twice a week in school guided by teachers and an instructor. Progressive training on programming and construction skills are provided for students with no prior experience.
OPPORTUNITIES
-
Intensive training and learning support to prepare students to showcase their technological expertise in key national competitions such as the First Lego League (FLL) and the National Robotics Competition (NRC).
-
Provision of leadership opportunities for students to lead their peers in collaborative group projects.
