Subjects Offered in TMS

Temasek Secondary School (TMS) offers a healthy range of subjects so that students have more options in terms of subject combinations when they move to the Upper Secondary level. Beyond traditional subjects such as English Language, Mother Tongue Language (Chinese, Malay and Tamil), Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Combined Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, History, Geography, Literature in English, Food and Nutrition, Art and Design and Technology, and Principles of Accounts, TMS also offers Computing (from 2018) and Economics.

Economics is an O-Level subject offered only in a few secondary schools across Singapore and so TMS is pleased to be part of this group of schools. Economics at TMS is also one of the most sought-after subjects at Upper Secondary level. From 2018, TMS is also excited to begin its first class offering Computing, which aims to provide students with the foundation to continue with further studies in computing and equip students with skills to participate in a rapidly technological environment.

It is also encouraging to note that the Normal (Technical) students in TMS are challenged with one additional subject. All Normal (Technical) students offer seven subjects instead of six. Elements of Business Skills is the seventh subject offered.

TMS is also a Centre for Higher Malay Language where students from TMS and other secondary schools in the vicinity come for Higher Malay Lessons taught by Temasek Malay Language teachers.
